FAQ

Exercise: Good for immunity or not?

Exercise is good exercise for your immune system. When you exercise, your body produces white blood cells which fight off infections. You also get rid toxins. Exercise can help you avoid heart disease and other illnesses like cancer. It reduces stress.

Exercising too frequently can make your immune system weaker. When you exercise too hard, your muscles will become sore. This can cause inflammation, swelling, and even death. Your body then needs to make more antibodies in order to fight infection. The problem is that these extra antibodies can cause allergies and autoimmune disorders.

So, don't overdo it!

What weight should I be based on my age and height. BMI calculator and chart

To determine how much weight loss you need, a BMI calculator is your best friend. Healthy BMI ranges between 18.5 to 24.9. If you want to lose weight, then you should aim to drop about 10 pounds per month. Simply enter your height, weight and desired BMI into the BMI calculator to calculate it.

This BMI chart shows you if it is possible to identify if you are either overweight or obese.

Does being cold give you a weak immune system?

There are two types of people in the world: those who love winter and those that hate it. You may wonder why you feel so miserable in the cold, no matter how much you love or hate winter.

Our bodies are made to function well in warm weather. In fact, we evolved to thrive in hot climates because that's where most of our food sources are located.

Now, however, we live in a completely different environment to how our ancestors lived. We spend much more time indoors, often exposed to extreme temperatures (cold and heat), and we eat foods that are processed rather than fresh.

Our bodies don't have the ability to tolerate extreme conditions anymore. This means that we feel tired, sluggish and even sick when we venture outside.

However, there are ways to counter these effects. Staying hydrated is one way to combat this. Hydration is key to keeping your body well hydrated, flushing out toxins and maintaining a healthy weight.

A healthy diet is another important thing. Your body will stay at its best when you eat healthy foods. This is especially important for those who spend long periods inside.

Take a few minutes every morning to meditate. Meditation helps you relax your mind and body, which makes it easier to deal with stress and illness.

How To

10 Tips for a Healthy Lifestyle

How to live a healthy life

We live in an era where it is difficult to get enough rest, we eat too often, drink too much alcohol, and use cigarettes. We don’t take proper care of our bodies.

It is very hard to find a balanced diet and exercise routine when you work fulltime and do all these things at the same time. Stress makes it even more difficult. Our minds tell us we can't handle this situation any longer so we feel guilty and give in.

If you feel like something is wrong with your body, then it probably is. Seek out a doctor to discuss your current health condition. If there are no signs of something abnormal, stress from your job could be the cause.

Some people believe they are fortunate because their jobs enable them to regularly go to the gym or because they have good friends who help them stay fit. But those people are actually lucky. These people have no problems. They got everything under control. I wish everyone could become like them. Unfortunately, many of us don’t know how to manage our personal and work lives. Many people have bad habits that lead to illnesses such as heart disease and diabetes.

Here are some tips that might help you to improve your lifestyle:

  1. Get enough sleep, minimum 7 hours, maximum 8 hours. This means sleeping properly and not consuming caffeine in the hour before bed. Caffeine blocks the production of melatonin hormones and makes it harder to fall asleep. Make sure your bedroom is dark and clean. If you work late at night, make sure you have blackout curtains.
  2. Take a balanced breakfast. Avoid sugary products, fried foods, white breads, and processed food. Include fruits, vegetables, and whole grain for lunch. It is recommended that afternoon snacks be high in fiber and protein, such as nuts and seeds, beans, fish, and dairy products. Avoid snacking on unhealthy foods like chips, candy, cookies, cakes, and sodas.
  3. Drink lots of water. We don't have enough. Water aids in weight loss, skin health, digestion, and keeps our skin young and supple. Six glasses of water daily can help you lose weight quicker. The best way to measure your hydration level is by checking the color of your urine. Yellow is dehydrated. Orange means mildly dehydrated. Pink means normal. Red means overhydrated. Clear means extremely-overhydrated.
  4. Exercise - Regular exercise has been shown to reduce depression and increase energy levels. Walking is an easy workout that can also improve your mood. Even though walking looks simple, it requires effort and concentration. Your brain must focus on walking and breathe slowly and deeply. Walking for 30 minutes at a steady pace can help you burn between 100 to 150 calories. Slowly build up and start slow. Do not forget to stretch after exercising to prevent injuries.
  5. Positive thinking is crucial for mental health. When we think positively, we create a happy environment inside ourselves. Negative thinking can drain our energy and create anxiety. You can stay motivated by thinking about what you want to accomplish. Break down the tasks into smaller steps if you feel overwhelmed by all the new tasks. You will fail occasionally, but you can always get up and try again.
  6. Learn to say no - We often get so busy that we do not even realize how much time we waste doing unimportant things. It is important to learn to say No when you need to. Being polite when you say "no" does not mean that you are rude. Simply saying "No" does not mean you are rude. You can always find a way to finish the task later. You should set limits. You can ask someone to help you. You can also delegate this task to another person.
  7. Take care of your body - Keep track of your diet. A healthier diet will help boost your metabolism, and you can lose extra weight. Don't eat too much oily or heavy foods as they tend to increase cholesterol levels. Three meals and two snacks are a good rule of thumb. Around 2000 to 2500 calories should be consumed each day.
  8. Meditate - Meditation is a great stress reliever and reduces anxiety. You can relax your mind by simply sitting still and closing your eyes. This exercise will allow for clarity of thought and be extremely helpful in making decisions. Regular meditation practice will help you be calmer, happier, and more peaceful.
  9. Breakfast is the most important meal you should eat each day. Skipping breakfast can lead to eating too much lunch. It's never too late for a healthy breakfast, as long as it is eaten within an hour of your waking hours. Eating breakfast boosts your energy and helps you manage your hunger better.
  10. Clean eating is key to a happy mood. Avoid junk food or any food items that contain preservatives or artificial ingredients. These products make your body acidic and will cause you to feel hungry. Vitamins and minerals found in fruits and vegetables can improve your overall health.
